Why blog? If you are new to digital marketing, blogging is one of the best and most practical methods to build trust and show your expertise in your area of influence. If you are an established blogger with a professional blog this might is an excellent tool to help you refocus and help create new, engaging content to drive new business or build awareness for your brand. In any case, blogging is an ideal strategy to help you tell your story - Why did you get into business? What's your passion? What would you share with your audience to let them know about your expertise? Who can you interview to grow your knowledge or to build new relationships?
Let's first review a few stats about the importance of blogging directly from HubSpot:
Blogging 60% of marketers say blog content creation is their top inbound marketing priority. (HubSpot, 2016)
Companies that published 16+ blog posts per month got almost 3.5X more traffic than companies that published 0-4 monthly posts. (HubSpot, 2015)
B2B companies that blogged 11+ times per month had almost 3X more traffic than those blogging 0-1 times per month. (HubSpot, 2015)
B2C companies that blogged 11+ times per month got more than 4X as many leads than those that blog only 4-5 times per month. (HubSpot, 2015)
Companies that published 16+ blog posts per month got about 4.5X more leads than companies that published 0-4 monthly posts. (HubSpot, 2015)
My goal with this YOU-CAN-BLOG CHALLENGE is to: 1) Encourage you, as an entrepreneur, to build your brand; 2) Help you develop new blogging skills and greater focus for your blogging niche; and 3) Give an opportunity for those experienced bloggers to pass on their knowledge and skills to others and to reignite their own fire for blogging and creating meaningful content.
Personally, my goal is to develop new blogging habits and to develop my blogging style so that by the end of the 30 days I will have created new blogging strategies and will have an increased clarity around the style of blog post that best resonates with my target audience around the topic of branding, and content marketing.
ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHALLENGE? You can be a newbie or an expert to join this challenge but I would like you to commit to blogging consistently and complete the entire 30 days. It can be a few times a day or a few times a week. I am challenging myself to one per day for the next 30 days here for my Brand Coach blog. (This is Day 1 for me!) I'm going to encourage you and provide tips here and with the hashtag: #bloglikeaboss. Start any time, but start!
